Our multi-awarded company has exclusive partnerships with producers to whom we are providing scientific advice, while regularly carrying out quality controls. Our facilities are applying HACCP procedures whilst we possess ISO 22000:2018, FDA, KFDA and Organic certifications (DIO, USDA, AB). Certified also for the production and bottling of LESVOS PGI, KALAMATA PDO and KOLYMVARI KRITIS PDO olive oil product series.

Extra virgin olive oil, the juice of olives, fruits of Greece’s sacred tree; the olive tree. Lesvos is the largest island in the North Aegean Sea and Greece’s third largest island, five nautical miles from the Turkish coast, at the opening of Adramyttinos Gulf. Characterised as “the garden of the Aegean”, Lesvos is renowned for its rich flora including olive trees, various orchards and aromatic herbs, its vibrant ecosystems, its climate and its divergent landforms.

 

No wonder why Lesvos has such a long history of olive oil production; archaeological finds have brought to light a Bronze Age olive press dated back to 2800 - 2000 BC!

Protected Geographical Indication

Lesvos Gold® as a premium extra virgin olive oil has the finest balance in terms of flavor, aroma, color and acidity levels. It is produced only by mechanical extraction methods with no chemicals applied, comes only from first cold pressing and has an oleic acidity level of less than 0.35 percent. Acidity level is the most important factor which determines the olive oil’s supremacy. It is the percent measure of the free fatty acid content; the lower the acidity the better the olive oil. It is the freshness, the quality and the acidity that makes all the difference!

Produced from the first harvest of handpicked unripe olives, within a tight time window and with extreme care, resulting in a bold fruity flavor, distinctive bitterness and pungency, and strong antioxidant properties, due to a higher percentage of polyphenols, than any other olive oil.

Cotinos (or kotinos) is the wreath made of olive branches that was given as a prize to the ancient Olympic Games’ winners. The olive branches used for cotinos were intertwined into a circular form that was worn at the winner’s head. These olive branches were taken from the wild-olive tree that grew near the temple of Zeus at Olympia and it was considered to be sacred. At the ancient Olympic Games there was only one winner per event, which was honored, praised and highly respected. It was held that cotinos was conveying to the winners all divine powers.
